On May 22, 2007, CAPU held its 6th annual lunch during the American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting in Anaheim, California.   This year’s lunch was a great success! 

Dr. John Mulcahy briefed physicians on HR1903, the Post Prostate Cancer Treatment Equity Act of 2007, and how physicians can get involved in this advocacy effort.  For more information, please sign up for CAPU and then check out the advocacy section in CAPU’s website.  

Dr. Bruce Quinn, Carrier Medical Director from NHIC gave a presentation on the latest information on Medicare’s upcoming Physician Quality Reporting Initiative.  

Finally, Robin Hudson, Senior Manager of Quality Initiatives & Health Policy at AUA, provided an update about AUA information on PQRI issues.  Robin also provided information about an upcoming webinar on June 5th called Making the Most of Pay for Performance.

On April 19-20, 2007, physicians and patients traveled to Washington, DC, for the 2007 Spring CAPU Fly-In.  They visited Capitol Hill to advocate for HR1903, the Post Prostate Cancer Treatment Equity Act.  Teams covered both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate and met with over fifty key Congressional leaders.  See highlights for this year's Fly-In.
